Population Services Kenya (PS Kenya)
Locally registered non-governmental organization (NGO) in Kenya with over three decades of experience in social and behavior change (SBC), social marketing and franchising. PS Kenya has been instrumental in supporting the Ministry of Health (MoH) to create sustainable health markets and provide essential services and information to improve the health and well-being of Kenyans. PS Kenya is an active member of various Technical Working Groups (TWGs) at the national and sub-national levels and has programmatic and social marketing operations across all 47 counties in Kenya, delivering essential health services, information, and quality and affordable health commodities.
Population Services Kenya (PS Kenya) has played a significant role in the Delivering Sustainable and Equitable Increases in Family Planning (DESIP) Programme by contributing to improved access to quality family planning (FP) and reproductive health services across Kenya.
Key Contributions
1. Service Delivery & Capacity Building
Strengthening the capacity of healthcare providers to offer high-quality, client-centered FP services. Supporting healthcare facilities with training and mentorship to ensure sustainability beyond the project’s lifespan.
2. Community Engagement & Demand Creation
Conducting behavior change communication (BCC) campaigns to increase awareness and uptake of modern contraceptive methods. Mobilizing and engaging community health workers to educate and refer clients to FP services.
3. Health Systems Strengthening
Enhancing supply chain management to ensure the availability of FP commodities at the last mile. Supporting data collection, monitoring, and evaluation to improve decision-making and program effectiveness.
4. Adolescent & Youth-Friendly Services
Advocating for and implementing youth-friendly reproductive health services to improve FP access among adolescents and young people. Addressing social and cultural barriers that limit youth participation in FP services.
5. Public-Private Partnerships
Leveraging private sector networks to expand access to affordable and high-quality FP services. Working with government agencies to strengthen policies that support sustainable FP interventions
