Role of Faith to Action Network in the DESIP Programme
As a consortium partner of the Delivering Sustainable and Equitable Family Planning in Kenya (DESIP) programme, Faith to Action Network plays a critical role in ensuring that family planning interventions are inclusive, sustainable, and culturally sensitive.
Its key contributions include:
1. Mobilizing Faith-Based Organizations and Religious Leaders
Faith to Action Network engages and mobilizes faith-based organizations and religious leaders to champion family planning and reproductive health services. Through dialogue and advocacy, the network helps reduce stigma, dispel myths, and create an enabling environment for the uptake of family planning services.
2. Advancing Interfaith Collaboration
The network fosters collaboration among different faith communities to promote shared values of health and well-being. By leveraging its interfaith approach, Faith to Action Network ensures that family planning initiatives are inclusive and respectful of diverse religious beliefs.
3. Capacity Building
Faith to Action Network provides training and technical support to faith actors, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to advocate for and deliver family planning services. This capacity-building effort strengthens the role of faith communities in advancing DESIP’s objectives.
4. Community Engagement and Advocacy
The organization plays a key role in engaging communities at the grassroots level, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs addressed. By integrating faith perspectives into advocacy efforts, Faith to Action Network helps build trust and acceptance of family planning services in traditionally underserved areas.
